  Even if the person helping you sounds knowledgeable, be suspect and verify. While the fish guys seem ok,, I had some trouble with the hamsters I bought my girls for Christmas. They were in fact gerbils ( even though we talked about nothing but hamsters the 45 minutes I was in the store ). Don't bother telling me "Don't you know the difference?" 1.My wife already has 2.NO, I never had varmit pets - I had real pets - not rodents Oh, and don't believe them when they tell you 'we only sell female hamsters at Petsmart'. Unless a miracle occurred Christmas morning or Hamgerbils are actually an unclassified protandrous species, I went home with a male and a female ...
